Power in Perspective is a research-based project led by artist Louise Mclachlan focusing upon the value of the disabled perspective within the arts.

The project will be based within the Craigmillar community and work with two pioneering organisations Craigmillar Now and Thistle Foundation to highlight a hidden history of disability within the community and the arts. Through accessing local archives and perspectives Mclachlan aims to expand the representation and conversation of disability within the arts whilst exploring her own practice of utilising the digital camera to create whilst living with disability.

This is a key moment within history for the disabled perspective; by focusing upon an archive of over seventy years whilst engaging with current lived experiences it allows these two areas of disability to be valued and brought into the present.
