Scope Photography : Power in Perspective

Edinburgh | 2021-2024

Scope Photography,
a workshop, supporting people living with long-term health conditions was founded and run by McLachlan.

Workshops took place at community spaces including Craigmillar Now and the Thistle Foundation, and culminated in an exhibition at the Thistle Foundation, showcasing participants’ work.

Through the accessibility and immediacy of digital cameras and phones, participants were encouraged to explore and reclaim their perspectives.

The workshops aimed to empower participants to see familiar environments in new ways, demonstrating how photography can be a tool for creativity, agency, and personal expression, even within the restrictions of health or mobility.

Made possible and funded by Neighbourhood Network and Young Scot
